Great Honeymoon Destinations In Europe

Europe has a wealth of remarkable natural, historical and cultural attractions, which is why it is a popular tourist destination. It is particularly a great place to go for a honeymoon or a special date. Indeed, the spectacular scenery and old world charm of the continent combine to create the perfect ambience for European romantic getaways.

Strolling through Prague

Going for a quiet stroll is one of the most romantic activities and one best enjoyed under the dim light of the stars and the old-fashioned street lamps in the winding cobblestone streets of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. Enjoy the scenic views while walking hand in hand on uncrowded lanes where horse-drawn carriages pass by at their own leisurely pace. You can always hail one if you get tired so you can snuggle up the rest of the way to your hotel or rent a rowboat on the Vltava river to add even more magic to your evening.

There are other cities in Europe that are perfect for a romantic evening stroll, including Bruges in Belgium and Tallinn in Estonia. It goes without saying that the cities of Paris and Rome are worth considering as destinations for European romantic getaways, too.

The Hotel de la Cite, Carcassonne

What better way to have a fairy-tale honeymoon than to stay in a castle, namely the Hotel de la Cite? Indeed, this romantic hotel is actually a medieval castle located in the middle of a citadel listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Like most castles, it offers stained-glass windows, spiral staircases, ancient stone walls, antique furniture and formal gardens. Like most excellent hotels, though, it offers great service and modern room amenities, truly creating a place where old and new worlds collide.

Most Romantic Restaurant – Le Manoir

A candlelit dinner may seem like a cliche, but it still helps transform any evening into something magical, so make sure you reserve a table at the Le Manoir in the Oxfordshire village of Great Britain during your European romantic getaways. The ambience, service and cuisine of this simultaneously cozy and luxurious restaurant are truly superb, worthy of the two Michelin stars it proudly banners.

Lounging on the Sands of Papa Cove

Europe also has many wonderful beaches and coves for those who love soaking up the sun and the sand, such as the Papa Cove on the eastern shore of the Ios island in Greece. This cove offers warm golden sands, calm crystal waters that are perfect for swimming and most importantly, walls of rock that provide a sanctuary for lovers, shielding them from the noise and the crowds of nearby beaches.

Skiing at St. Moritz

Ski resorts can also be great destinations for European romantic getaways, particularly the St. Moritz ski resort in Switzerland. Aside from being one of the best ski resorts in the world for its great slopes, St. Moritz also offers plenty of restaurants, shops and hotels – all with panoramic views of the unparalleled Engadine countryside.

All these and more make Europe an outstanding destination for romantic getaways. Indeed, whether you’re visiting in the summer or in winter, or no matter where in Europe you plan to spend most of your vacation, you’re sure to enjoy your European romantic getaways with your loved one.

Just because of Swine Flu, holiday prices in Mexico have plummeted!!

Have you thought about going on holiday to Mexico this year, if not, it might be a good time to consider it. Afraid that it wont be able to climb up the Tourism ladder again, Mexico has taken some drastic action. Mexico has been given so much diminishing press all about Swine Flu, that it is being avoided by all the tourists, now they have cut there holiday prices up to 50%!!

Because of the situation that Mexico has fallen into, they have had to make some drastic changes to all of their holiday offers. The point is, that Mexico wants to boost it’s tourist amount as much as possible, otherwise they will lose out on one of their biggest money spinners. Caribbean holidays have also been affected by this and have lost revenue because of the epidemic across the sea.

You can even find some hotels that will offer you a 1 hundred dollar deposit at the hotel for you to spend on hotel services. As far as holidays are concerned, this is definitely the place to be. Both the Caribbean and Mexico have not had much good news published about them because of the Swine Flu but the holiday offers are amazing.

So is there actually any risk of you catching it? Could you contract it? As cases of Swine Flu are disappearing out of the press, global panic is slowing down. An article posted in the Sunday Times Travel section even mentions Mexican Hoteliers offering free holidays for 3 YEARS to any tourists who catch Swine Flu within 14 days of visiting their resorts.

So go ahead and try some Mexico holidays or try something more Caribbean like Grenada holidays or Tobago holidays, prices for all of these places have dropped dramatically, your sure to find something you like. You might as well just go to Mexico anyway, your just as likely to catch it in any other country in the world now anyway.

Caribbean holidays, all about the sun and the Celebs, but we should know more

The Caribbean is best known for the fact it provides luxury holidays. For years and years, celebrities have chosen the Caribbean as there get-away vacation? Because the Caribbean has received so much hype about the sun and the celebrities, I thought it would be nice to show you some other facts about the Caribbean. It will help you to have a more fun time while you are on holiday if you already know things about the island, this will give you more scope to explore the region.

Mentioned above was the term collection of islands. The Caribbean is made up of more than 7000 islands, islets and reefs, much more than people usually think. Across the Caribbean region, there are around thirty million inhabitants. Thinking about how much Europe affected these islands, before the Europeans arrived, it was though that only 700,000 people lived on these islands.

So that’s the general gist of the base facts now for something a little better known. The famous voyage of Christopher Columbus is known world wide, about how he named the Caribbean the West Indies in 1492. The Indies in Asia was the spot that Columbus thought he had arrived at, this is why the Caribbean received this name. So you could head to areas in the Bahamas on luxury holidays and find out some interesting information on Columbus route.

The Caribbean is also one of the most Bio Diverse regions in the world. In an effort to try and save the remaining wildlife in and around these islands the area has been classed as a Conservation International Hot-Spot. Because of the arrival of the Europeans in the late 15th century, many of the species were either wiped out or forced close to extinction. It even used to have some animals that were only found in the Caribbean, like the Giant owl. With the Islands being populated so heavily over the past three centuries the local species have become threatened and some have died out completely.

So visit the Caribbean on Caribbean holidays and learn about new cultures and environments. This location is a hot-spot for tourists coming from all over the world. Tobago holidays have been a massively growing tourist attraction.

Emigrating To Australia : Where To Live

Where to live in Australia is the topic for this part of our guide to emigrating to Australia

Sydney, the largest city Australia has to offer, is situated on Australia’s south eastern coast. Despite being regarded as an expensive city, it’s a major destination for immigrants. A hub of business activity for the entire pacific region, it’s the headquarters of nearly all of Australia’s banks and at least half of Australia’s top companies, and the regional headquarters for around 500 multinational corporations.

Melbourne, the second most inhabited city in Australia, is the capital of the State of Victoria. Repeatedly ranked as one of the world’s most livable cities, it’s also viewed as Australia’s cultural and sporting capital and is a centre for commerce, industry, education, arts and tourism. It’s seen noteworthy population and employment growth in recent years and there has been substantial overseas investment in the city’s industries and property market.

Brisbane, one of the major business hubs in Australia, is the state capital of Queensland. Blue-collar industries include petroleum refining, paper milling and metalworking, and white-collar ones include information technology, financial services and public sector administration. It’s also noted as being a particularly multicultural city, with over 20% of its residents being born overseas (the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and South Africa being the primary contributors).

Adelaide, a costal city in the state of South Australia, has a history of attracting immigrants from non-English speaking countries, which has contributed to it becoming a welcoming multicultural place. It’s noted for its many sporting events and festivals, its culture, food and wine, and its beautiful beachfronts, and ranks as one of the world’s most livable cities. The economy there is primarily dependent on Exporting, manufacturing, and defense technology and research form the base of the the economy there.

Perth is looked upon as the center for business and government for the entire western side of Australia. It’s the fourth largest city in Australia, and has a growth rate consistently higher then the national average. British-born residents are plentiful there, and it’s also been a particularly popular destination for South African and Chinese immigrants. Manufacturing aside (due to its substantial distance from other populous Australian cities), lots of business opportunities are on offer there.

Applying For Australian Citizenship

We’re looking at becoming an Australian citizen in this part of our emigrating to Australia guide…

To become a formal member of Australian society you need to apply for citizenship there. If you do so and are accepted then your rights, privileges and opportunities will be equal to those who were born in the country, and you’ll no longer need to apply for visas to reside there.

Certain criteria are in place for you to be eligible for Australian citizenship; you should have been residing there for the last 2-4 years (exactly how long differs on personal circumstances), you must be planning to live there long-term, you should over 18 years old, and must be of good character (which is judged on references you provide and your criminal record). Additionally, a computerized test of 20 multiple choice questions on a range of aspects of Australia must be passed.

Information and advice regarding methods of application, the application process and fees can be found on the website of the Department of Immigration and Culture (DIAC). Carefully read through this before downloading an application form from the website or collecting a paper version from a branch of the Australian High Commission. At $200 per application, it isn’t cheap, so be sure that you’re eligible and have all the necessary documentation before proceeding.

You could also consult with a migration agent, as they’re experienced in the citizenship application process. Failed applications won’t affect your permanent residence visa or your ability to continue living in Australia, but you won’t get your application fee refunded.

Once the application process is complete, and you’ve satisfied all of the citizenship requirements, you’ll be required to make the Pledge of Commitment. This is done at a special ceremony, which will culminate in you being presented with a Citizenship Certificate by an official from the Australian government.
